What Happens Next

We resolve complaints as quickly and informally as we reasonably can.  In all cases, we will update you on the status of your complaint and inform you of the outcome of our work.  If we can't help you, we will try to refer you to someone who can address your issue.

What if I do not like the way Ombudsman Toronto responded to my complaint?

If you disagree with Ombudsman Toronto's analysis of your complaint, you may explain why in an email to ombudsman@toronto.ca or a letter to our mailing address. Please contact us to discuss how we can accommodate any need for an accessible communication format. 

The Ombudsman will review your concerns and contact you. The Ombudsman's decisions are not reviewable by any other body, except her decisions about whether your complaint falls within her jurisdiction, which can be reviewed by the courts.
